Pessima Foundation was founded by Sierra Leonean couples - Racheal Bundor Pessima and Desmond Pessima. Racheal and Desmond understand the pain of many families in our communities who struggle to access basic human necessities like food, clothing, shelter, pure drinking water, and access to healthcare as needed. Growing up as kids and young adults in Sierra Leone, Racheal and Desmond both experienced similar struggles that hugely undermined their existence and dignity of life. 

Racheal is a philanthropist and a professional nurse with a bachelor's degree in nursing and a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration. Desmond is also a philanthropist, a community organizer, and a human services professional. He has a Bachelor's degree in mass communication and a Master's degree in human services.
